What Others Say About Michael

Mike and I represented the BB+O county as foursomes partners for many years. Our greatest achievement as a pairing was winning the Sunningdale Foursomes in 1996. Mike has always been a very good golfer with a good eye for the swing and a sound knowledge of the swing mechanics. I would whole-heartedly recommend him as a coach.

Luke Donald - Former World Number 1

I have known Mike for a number of years and have played golf with him on many occasions. Not only is Mike an exceptionally nice and personable guy, he also possesses a very deep understanding of all aspects of the game of golf. I cannot recommend him highly enough for golf instruction for those who are serious about improving.

Bernard Gallacher - 8 times Ryder Cup player and 3 times Ryder Cup captain

When we lived in the UK our 3 children were coached by Mike who was a fantastic coach in every way and brilliant with the kids! I was very impressed with his coaching, which was simple and focussed on the basics. This is how I believe children should be taught. I would recommend him in a heartbeat!

Thomas Bjorn - 13 European Tour victories and Ryder Cup player

Caldicott School were delighted with the coaching provided at The Lambourne Club by Michael O'Connor last Summer. The boys really enjoyed the weekly lessons which combined detailed instruction with fun practice. Lots of boys have already signed up for lessons when they start again next Summer! Coming from a background of sports coaching I realise that Mike's greatest asset is his ability to get the best out of his pupils and, having had a lesson with him myself, I would recommend him to golfers of all ages and abilities.

Mark Smith - Deputy Head Teacher, Caldicott School, Farnham Royal

The coaching that all of the children have enjoyed from Mike has been excellent. The sessions are tailored to the relevant abilities of those participating, allowing them to make progress in all aspects of the game whilst having great fun at the same time! His enthusuiasm encourages his pupils to try their best and to want to be better golfers.

Greg Fearon - Games Teacher, Davenies School, Beaconsfield

When approached by Michael, we didn’t realise just how fortunate we were.  Michael O’Connor is a professional teacher of Golf and has been providing after school and PE lessons for our Year 1 and Year 2 children since April 2014. Michael has a calm and effective approach and our children are enjoying learning to play golf. The club is very popular, and some children have also joined the Lambourne Club.

As a school we find Michael very professional and reliable, and our children certainly look forward to their Friday afternoon sessions.

Vanessa Fowler - Butlers Court School

Mike has really helped me as a beginner to understand what golf is all about and how you can still play even with a health condition like MS. I never realised how much golf can really help your balance and co-ordination. Thanks Mike!

Karen Aston - Beginner and MS sufferer

I had a very fun golf party. All of my friends really enjoyed it, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The highlight of the day was when we hit balls into the pond, that was really funny!!

Rosie Burling

Dear Mike, I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for organising a fantastic golf party for Rosie's birthday. The girls loved the variety of fun games and the opportunity to play a hole on the course. Rosie had a big smile on her face all day and can't wait to get back to the course!

David Burling - September 2011

Mike can do awesome parties.  He can make you a fantastic golfer. We had a great day - the games were brilliant and all my friends loved it. It was the best party of my entire life. I've improved my golf because Mike helped me.

James Dunbar-Newman - 8 years old - October 2013

I always struggled with my chipping, especially in competitions. I had had loads of lessons but never improved until I saw Mike. Mike realised that my technique was OK but my confidence was v low. He helped build up my confidence by changing the way I thought and by showing me how to practise properly.
